Since the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and Rita, ID Group has been working extensively with state agencies in Mississippi and Louisiana to develop standards that create total interoperability and accountability between First Repsonder disciplines as well as between counties / parishes and states.  As a result, manual and electronic accountability via Salamander Technologies and represented by ID Group has been embraced throughout Mississippi and Louisiana.

The Objective:

1.  Establish a uniform standard for ID Tags worn by all First Responders
2.  Make ID Tags cost effective and secure so they cannot be altered or replicated
3.  Utilize existing equipment that the agencies or organizations already have
4.  Allow First Responder data and qualifications to be captured electronically
5.  Maintain NIMS compliancy
6.  Provide Interoperability among all Responders regardless of their organization or where the Responder is from.

In order to complete the above objective, ID Group has developed in a coordinated effort with State Agencies; First Responder Accountability Card Stock (FRACS.)

FRACS contains anti-counterfeit holographic imagery embedded within the card.  The FRACS image is a carefully chosen and color coded icon representing each major First Responder discipline.  This is to ensure visually that a First Responder wearing FRACS has had qualification scrutiny to enable entitlement for use.

Using FRACS in conjunction with the functionality of the Salamander Technologies solution provides the most advanced and accurate accountability and interoperability solution in the industry.
